SAT exam??

hi im in 9th grade and i took the psat test (i thinks its called that) during the summer. I got a really bad grade like under 1100.TT i didnt really sweat becuase i was only in 9th grade but others told me that was WAY below average. My goal is to go to a good college so im worried. Why do i get such a low grade when other ninth graders get like 1400, 1500 or even 1600
