Memory box help?

next week, both my parents and my father in law are having celebrations. they BOTH have everything imaginable. i would like to create a memory box for them, or a gift box, with something to represent something they have done for me. one thought to put in was a catchers mitt, for all the times you have caught me when i fell, or a small heart, for all the love they have shown thru the years, or... something. thats where i need some help. i would like some suggestions and some help making this happen. thanks in advance. mair
