Do you want to know why I'm voting for Obama/Biden?

Mostly because I'm sick and tired of the Republican party being dominated by a far out religious group (evangelicals) that imposes its will on the party. I want stem cell research to go forward immediately and without impediment based on someone else's religious beliefs. I want my kids to understand evolution. I don't want my kids exposed to bizarre constructions of the Bible. Most of all, I want society as a whole to be more tolerant and to be able to listen to opposing viewpoints. When McCain knuckled under to the loonie christian right, he lost my vote. It's gone and will never be for McCain again. When I see all the evangelicals at the GOP convention pretending to be "christian", I realize that that's not for me. To be a real christian, you have to do more than talk about Jesus all the time. You have to walk the walk by living your life the way Jesus did (or coming as close to that ideal as you can). These people in Minneapolis don't do that. They're fat cats who, if the truth be known, probably care more about tax cuts than they do about abortion. I'm disgusted with the GOP. Until the christian right loosens its grip on the party of Lincoln, I'm voting for the other guys.
